Hi,
I have started working in a new place and they have Flash 8 here, before I was using MX 2004.
Maybe I dont have very good memory so I use help panel to check syntax, spelling, usage etc. from help. But in Flash 8 its terrible!
When I search something lots of answers come up but they arenīt sorted alphabetically!!! At least by the first letter in first word and so on, it has some strange goofy sorting by belonging class or whatever and its impossible to find something quickly or at all!
I havent found any ways to change its behaviour, is it possible?
Are there any nice alternatives to (view) Flash 8 help?
Thanks in advance!
Yes, its a little better but unfortunately very slow.
I found an intresting app though, Flash recource manager
http://weblogs.macromedia.com/mesh/archives/2004/04/flash_resource.cfm
gonna try it out and see if it works with Flash 8
There is help!
Use LiveDocs, that is ba
sically what you get through the help window anyways, and I never have any issue finding what I am looking for.
Personally, I think the help file is arranged in the best possible way, and once you learn how flash "works" is quite intuitive.. Say, I'm working with an array for example and I want it backwards, but have no idea how or if it can even be done.. I just look up array and right there is a list of all properties and methods. I scan down and find the method "reverse()" (sounds like it might be backwards), and reading the brief description it seems exactly like what I want.. clicking the hyperlink takes me to a more detailed description and some very nicely written script examples.. easy peasy.. If I had tried searching for "reverse" alphabetically, I would never have found it.. Once you know what classes you're working with, the help file is unbelievably easy to use and even leads you to solutions you may never even have thought of...
Allergies.. no relief?!?
