Spam filters don't work. Just delete them.
well to cut back on my spam messages i have 3 email accounts
1) official stuff- i don't want to put something stupid on a job application or other important thing
2) emails with friends/yahoo answers/etc- i picked something cute and something that represents me
3) stupid online surveys/sites i know will send me junk mail- (ill tell you because its not like im worried about getting spam!) i use: My_Junk_Mail_Now@yahoo.com
for all of the websites/people you get important messages from, give them a new email address that you will only use for things like that (no junk sites) that way you wont have to sort between junk and good mail!
If you enter your e-mail into ANYTHING, be prepared to be overrun with spam.
A way to get rid of it that is effective, but takes a long time, is open the spam mail, then at the bottom it will say "click to unsubscribe", usually in tiny, faint lettering. Do that for every spam you get and the amount you recieve every day will start to go down.
Look at less or no more porn
Have you recently changed your provider? When you do, you will
get this sort of thing. But just keep banging the stuff into the 'spam'
folder. Next time they try to access your email address, they will not get access. Enventually it will die out.

if so get a better email provider, such as aol, gmail, hotmail, or yahoo. they are better protected.
if its just on your computer, get a pop-up blocker
If you are talking about yahoo mail you can go into mail options and create up to 15 filters then choose to have the spam go into your trash bin. That will eliminate a lot from your inbox. Hope this Helps.
Every time you sign up for something free or buy something online, you're asked to provide your email address. These sites will sell your email addresses to spammers for $$$. If I were you, I'd create another email address using one of the many free services (Yahoo/Hotmail/Gmail/etc..) and use that address whenever you sign up for free stuff or go to sites that ask for an email address when it's really not necessary to provide one.
