My husband and I are going to try for our first child after the holidays - I would like to know if anyone has any advice when it comes to pre-pregnancy precautions (when did you stop drinking alcohol, prenatal vitamins, change in diet/exercise etc...) Thanks in advance!
honestly- i didn't plan to get pregnant and didn't find out i was pregnant until i was 10 weeks because of some birth control problems and some bleeding- i drank probably the weekend before i found out and felt so bad.
But if you're planning on having a child you don't really need to change your exercise routine, many women still run during pregnancy. as long as you don't over exert yourself and do anything you're not use to doing- start taking prenatal vitamins probably a few weeks or so before you try and eat healthy
What you can do is stop drinking Alcohol, smoking and take healthy foods with lots of Folic Acid content, also you can take tablets Folic Acid and other vitamins..always better to consult doctor also and try to do some light exercise, Yoga to keep you and your mind fit..good luck
Your doctor will advise you on on which pre-natal vitamins to take. I would make an appt with him/her asap so you can discuss that you're ready to start a family...if you already have a healthy diet and exercise routine, there's no need to change it (unless your doc says so) Since you did not mention whether or not you smoke, i'm assuming you do not smoke....as for alcohol I would say to limit yourself until you find out that you are in fact pregnant. Best of luck to you! :)
Just stop drinking when you are ready to start trying. You don't have to dry out for a month prior or anything like that. Like the other two people said eat healthy and vitamins aren't a bad idea. For exercise if you already do something continue to do it. If you don't pick something that doesn't put a lot of stress on your body. Good Luck
Allergies.. no relief?!?
