Ok my monitor died a few weeks ago and i got a benq. Now to make a long story short i decided to repair it but when ever i decide to turn it on the led for power stays on but nothing on the screen. I changed the FU904 transistors i believe their called and now it seems when i turn it on under a light i can see my benq logo. I know my inverter is not gone i believe its just a simple fix . would anyone in this sort of field help me out on narrowing down this problem.
This is a job fore tv repair.
hehehe, i love how all tech hacks say 'im sure its just a quick thing to fix' & try to fix it themselves, only to ruin it even more!! I work in a tv repair place, my hubby owns it & is a tech himself, i've worked here for 4 & a half years doing parts & acccounts, so i do know a bit about repairs & reasons why things break down! We actually just had a BenQ monitor in last week, one of the boards inside it was faulty, the whole board had to be replaced, not a "quick fix" as u call it, it rarely is. Ppl are just tight-a$$es & try to fix things themselves, but Murphy's Law will work against you & if you try to do it urself, you'll make it worse & it will only be more expensive in the end, i see it all the time, dont do it!! Get a qualified tech to look at it & fix it!
There are some possibilities with monitor failures
Does the monitor works in other computers? (using another cable)
If so, It's the monitor, replacing is almost always better than fixing
Can you attach another monitor to your PC?
If so, It could be the Video card, or the RAM cards,
In my case, the monitor turns on but it stays in "stand-by" mode, so I have to open the CPU and take out the RAM cards, make a small clean from dust, put cards again and turn back on.
Have you tried another cable? (Just for cusriosity)
Ok, I know of very few success stories of people who fixed transistors/diodes/resistor/capacitors. When a transistor goes out on a motherboard, it has very little chance of ever working again even if you do try and replace it. That motherboard in the monitor will not work again because that transistor is out.
The only way to fix that is call the company and get a replacement motherboard. Otherwise, I believe you'll have to get a new monitor
Allergies.. no relief?!?
